Athens and Sparta agree a Thirty Years' Peace

Athens and Sparta make a truce meant to last thirty years, and Athens gives up the places it held in the Peloponnese.

Not long after their return from Euboea, they made a truce with the Lacedaemonians and their allies for thirty years, giving up the posts which they occupied in Peloponnese, Nisaea Pegae, Troezen, and Achaia.

The Peace of Nicias

Athens and Sparta sign a peace in spring, about ten years after the war began.

This treaty was made in the spring, just at the end of winter, directly after the city festival of Dionysus, just ten years, with the difference of a few days, from the first invasion of Attica and the commencement of this war.
